Anime and Video Games Mostly
Hey! It’s Mew.
Today’s post is something a little more personal than usual because I’ll be sharing some of my old artwork with you. Are you ready? Let’s start!
If you read my recent post on being shy, you’d know that growing up I was always really uncomfortable whenever I found myself in social situations. Being an introvert, I always found it much easier and so much more gratifying to spend my time by myself so art has always been the obvious option for me.
When I was in school I would always be much too nervous to eat lunch with my friends or to go to PE classes so instead I would sneak into the art room when it was empty and just spend all of my time there drawing on my own. On days when I was feeling particularly bad I would even skip classes just to paint.
Recently I came across some old sketchbooks and even my old school art projects from that time and although I’m certainly not a great artist, I thought I would still show you some of my paintings and sketches anyway just for fun.
As you can tell, so much of my inspiration comes from anime and video games, especially Final Fantasy and Nintendo games. Some art styles really resonate with me emotionally and this one in particular just makes me feel so dreamy and nostalgic. I guess because I associate it so much with the stories that had the most impact on my childhood. I remember sitting in front of my playstation literally feeling like I was being taken into completely new and enchanting worlds. I guess drawing these types of scenes made me want to recreate these feelings in my art too.
(Most of these obviously aren’t original artworks. They’re just sketches I did for practice. Unfortunately I don’t remember the names of the artists to credit them because this is all artwork that I did between now and the past five years. Though some of these works I did make up myself. ^_^)
So these were all of the drawings I wanted to show you. Do you have any hobbies that help you out in life? I’d love to hear all about them in the comments below!
That’s all from me for now. Thank you so much for reading and I’ll see you very soon in our next post.
BE HAPPY ♥ BE HAPPY
