How I’m Keeping My Skin Clear This Spring
Hello everybody and welcome back to another beauty post here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Lately my skincare obsession has been stronger than ever, especially with summer just around the corner.
I’ve mentioned it a thousand times already here on our blog but ever since I left Ireland and moved to France I’ve been focusing so much more of my attention on taking care of my skin than I have been on my makeup. Beauty in France is all about the epidermis and so many of the girls here get away with leaving the house completely foundation-free on a daily basis because of how well they look after their skin.
The way I’ve always seen beauty is that when it comes to makeup and skincare, it’s so important to see the face as the canvas while the actual makeup that you use is like the paint with which you create your work of art. If the canvas is damaged, your job as an artist is going to be much more difficult and demanding. This is exactly why it’s so important to keep the quality of your base in tact.
In a recent post I mentioned that I love the products by the brand Fresh and the way that they leave my face feeling so hydrated and nourished. In today’s post I’m going to be talking about their rose infused products and how I’ve been using them to clear up my complexion.
How I’m Caring For My Skin
2019 is really the year of my life where I try to improve my skincare regime. I’ve said it many times here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth but beauty in France really is epidermal. Nobody really bats an eye too much at your makeup because we all know that it’s what underneath that matters. I’ve always been a huge advocate of fashion and my wardrobe contains a plethora of fabrics from corduroy to cashmere but of all the precious fabrics that I love, my skin is the one that I’m going to wear for the rest of my days so it’s why I’m so enthusiastic to take the best care of it that I can. Now that I’m 22 and I’m getting older, I realise more and more the importance of taking care of it.
Lately, I’ve really been loving the brand Fresh, especially for my super sensitive skin. If you’re looking for something gentle for acne prone skin or you are quite prone to dryness then I would highly recommend giving them a go. The cleanser has helped so much with my problem skin all throughout the month and I can’t express how much I’ve been loving it! In this post I’m going to be reviewing both the Fresh Soy Cleanser and Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. Both of these products have become an essential part of my beauty regime since the year began and I honestly love the difference in the softness of my skin that they have made. I just had to share them for that!
My Current Must-Haves
Hey everyone! I’m finally back in Paris after my trip to Portugal and back to the grind again. Now that summer is drawing to a close I can’t help but wish these long days of freedom could just last forever. I’ve been having a hard time accepting that the back to school season has already started up for so many of you and next week it will finally be my turn to take up my studies again too. That being said though, I’ve been having a lot of fun doing some last minute back to school shopping, especially where beauty is concerned. Today I thought I’d share my top beauty picks from Sephora with you guys. While most of them fall into the category of Korean skincare (surprise, surprise) I did throw a few makeup favourites in there too! Let’s start.
For Younger, Plumper, Healthier Skin
As the largest organ in the body and the window to all that is happening to our health on the inside, it’s no wonder why beauty has always been so strongly linked to healthy skin.
When I first entered the world of Korean beauty, it was really a breath of fresh air for my skin. These beauty brands really spoil us for choice and there’s so many high tech treatments and masks available that you just don’t see in the Western World.
While it did take me some time to get used to Korean beauty products and the way each product should be used in your regime, I feel like I have finally unlocked the perfect skincare routine to counter the effects of my busy life here in Paris. Here are some of my favourite products that I’ve used to date.
Hey guys! Welcome back to another beauty post here on our blog.
In this week’s video I wanted to try out some Kylie Jenner Lip Kits as well as the In Love With The Koko set of liquid lipsticks. I had never given these hyped lippies a try ever before in my life and I thought what better way to do it than on camera! If you wanna see my reaction to them and know what they’re like, you can check the video out on our channel here.
While you can watch my overall impression of them and see how they apply in the video, I also thought I would give you a little sneak-peak here and share some of my thoughts on them with you!
The first thing I had to try was obviously one of the infamous lip kits. The one I opted for was the ‘Strawberries and Cream‘ shade which is a velvet matte lipstick. Honestly I was so shocked with how my lips looked with this even after applying just the lipliner. It was as if I had injections, they just looked so much more bloated!
Both the lip liner and they lipstick apply really smoothly and evenly and the lipstick is just so thick and creamy, making it a dream to apply. The pigment is extremely strong and it lasts for a good few hours throughout the day, even after eating and drinking! This lip kit is definitely one of my best purchases of the year because the quality is just so amazing. I can’t stress it enough.
The next thing I got from Kylie Cosmetics is the In Love with the Koko set which contains four liquid lipsticks. My favourite of them is the shade Doll which is this beautiful coral/red colour. The set also contains a gloss (Sugar Plum) which has a very pretty, glowy hue as well as two other lipsticks, Bunny which is a darker more mauve shade and Baby Girl which is also quite a coral shade with a pinker undertone to it.
The quality of this set is just as good as that of the lip kit. The only exception being that the lipsticks don’t come with lipliners to accompany them. Honestly though that really doesn’t bother me at all because I think they look just as good by themselves. The colours are just so rich and vivid. I love how they look!
Overall I am just so in love with these products. I wasn’t really expecting them to be worth much of the praise that they receive at all but after trying them out I have been in love with them ever since!
So that’s all from me for now. Don’t forget to check out the video here! Thank you guys so much for reading and for watching and I’ll see you very soon in my next post!
