A mini-travel guide to Orléans
Last weekend myself and my friend Lyne decided to go on a little girly getaway for a few days. We didn’t want to spend too much time travelling because we were rather limited for time so when we saw that Orléans was just a two hour drive away from Paris, we packed our bags and booked a hotel for the weekend.
In today’s post I’m sharing some of my favourite things to do in Orléans with you guys as well as the photos from my trip.
How I’m Caring For My Skin
2019 is really the year of my life where I try to improve my skincare regime. I’ve said it many times here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth but beauty in France really is epidermal. Nobody really bats an eye too much at your makeup because we all know that it’s what underneath that matters. I’ve always been a huge advocate of fashion and my wardrobe contains a plethora of fabrics from corduroy to cashmere but of all the precious fabrics that I love, my skin is the one that I’m going to wear for the rest of my days so it’s why I’m so enthusiastic to take the best care of it that I can. Now that I’m 22 and I’m getting older, I realise more and more the importance of taking care of it.
Lately, I’ve really been loving the brand Fresh, especially for my super sensitive skin. If you’re looking for something gentle for acne prone skin or you are quite prone to dryness then I would highly recommend giving them a go. The cleanser has helped so much with my problem skin all throughout the month and I can’t express how much I’ve been loving it! In this post I’m going to be reviewing both the Fresh Soy Cleanser and Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream. Both of these products have become an essential part of my beauty regime since the year began and I honestly love the difference in the softness of my skin that they have made. I just had to share them for that!
A Makeup Look and Review
2019 is a year that is all about trying new things in the beauty realm. If you have been a long-term follower of LaDameWhoFellToEarth then you’d know that I have always had a real thing for fashion and experimenting with different outfits but my makeup looks have always remained more or less the same.
I’m very lucky to live close enough to a Sephora that I can pop into on my way home from work and uni whenever I fancy and each time I go in, the one palette that always catches my eye is the Desert Dusk Palette by Huda Beauty. There’s just something about it that really rubbed me the right way, from the unique idea of recreating the enchantment of a desert sunset onto the eyes to the warmth that each colour radiated. I know I’m a little late to the party on getting onboard with the hype over this palette but today I thought you guys would appreciate the look I came up with as well as my thoughts on the makeup. Let’s get into it then shall we?
My Best One Yet
Paris is definitely a city brimming with opportunities in the fashion world and as an up and coming influencer and blogger, making the decision to move here just over a year ago was definitely one of the best things I ever could have done for my career. If you guys haven’t read about my first experience modelling in Paris yet then I definitely recommend you check that post out here. This was my second time ever getting the chance to model here and I wanted to share some of the outfits with you because between the snow in Paris and the cold grasp of winter apparently not letting go of us anytime soon, we could all do with some inspiration for upgrading our winter wardrobe.
My second time modelling in Paris was probably one of the most surreal moments of my life and a day that I’ll no doubt remember forever. It’s crazy to think that the decision I took at 20 to leave home all by myself has spring-boarded me into such awesome places in the fashion industry and being able to take part in such an amazing project and in Paris of all places is a literal dream come true. I still can’t get over how well things are going for me right now. I feel like I really it’s all too good to be true!
My Goals for The New Year
I can’t believe that we’re over two weeks into the new year and I still haven’t made a post talking about the ambitions that I have in 2019. Recently I was catching up on some blogposts about 2019 from Wiishu and Erika and I felt really inspired to write something similar. I love the kick I get from reading other people’s goals and talking about this always gives me the spur of motivation that I need in order to get my life together.
When the year is as fresh as it is in January there is so much potential for anything to happen which is exactly why I feel so pumped to make the most of every day. For this post, I’m going to follow the template that Erika made on her post just because I think it’s the most simple so I’ll be dividing my goals up into four separate categories; travel, career, relationships and well-being. Hopefully this post will inspire you guys to focus on yourselves and make the most out of 2019 too!
Back in Paris
2019 has just started for me in Paris and today I’m coming at you guys with another outfit that has some serious badass vibes. I guess my newfound style must be a side effect of the new year because whenever I have a lot of things coming my way in life, I always love to dress as fierce as possible so that I can take on new challenges with confidence.
I was so happy that when I was back home in Ireland for the holidays I got to pay a visit to the massive TopShop store on Stephen’s Green. I’m not gonna lie when I say that I’ve been building my wardrobe primarily from TopShop ever since I discovered it in secondary school and it’s a place I miss shopping in a lot since moving to Paris. Today’s outfit is all about two key components of the parisien outfit; simplicity and quality. Let’s begin!
Old Places, New Outfits
Hello my lovelies! Happy New Year to you all! I really hope that 2019 is off to a good start for all of you and that you’re feeling just as motivated for the new year as I am.
For our first post of 2019 I’m coming at you from Ireland with an outfit that I was absolutely loving during my stay there over the holidays. This ensemble is one that makes me feel so killer. I don’t know what it is about setting foot on Irish soil that makes me want to embrase a wilder dress sense but growing up by the mountains and by the sea always made me feel so inspired by the ruggedness and unpredictability of the landscape. Whenever I touch down in Ireland I love letting that edginess and impulsiveness shine through in my look.
