The Perfect Place To Snoop in Paris
Notre-Dame and the square surrounding it may be inaccessible after the fire that happened in April but that doesn’t mean that you should skip out on visiting the quartier of Saint Michel next time you find yourself in Paris.
A New Beginning for LaDameWhoFellToEarth
It’s been about a month now since I launched my beauty business over on Instagram and I’ve honestly been so busy with it that I haven’t even had the chance to make a blogpost about it!
As a fashion and beauty blogger I moved to Paris two years ago to follow my dream of turning my blog into an actual business that would be profitable for me. Although I haven’t fully made it yet as a full time blogger, getting partnered with a multi-million dollar beauty company means that I’m one step closer to converting LaDameWhoFellToEarth into a fully fledged business.
When I got partnered with NuSkin I accomplished a huge goal of mine because it meant that I could finally break into the beauty industry with a huge multi-national company specialising in makeup, beauty and skincare having my back.
So what does this actually mean for our blog now? Here is where it actually gets pretty exciting!
Now that I have my own beauty range of liquid lipsticks you can now buy them from me over on my Instagram by dropping me a DM. These products have won so many awards in the past for their premium quality and NuSkin have also been featured in Forbes as being one of the Top 5 most trustworthy businesses in the world so you know you’re getting bag for your buck.
My Travel Guide For a Short Stay in The Netherlands
What is it exactly about the Netherlands that is so alluring? I can’t exactly explain why but something about this magical place and especially Amsterdam just keeps me coming back. If blazing it in the coffee shops isn’t exactly your thing, there’s so much more to this place than the legal cannabis and the red light district. Think riding through the countryside on a vintage bike and eating stroopwafels by Amsterdam’s most picturesque canals and you’ve got the perfect image of what my most recent stay was like in Holland. Every corner of every street looks like the image of a biscuit box or a vintage postcard.
This week I abandoned my baguettes, omelette au fromage and berets (ok,ok, I may have kept the beret) but I did replace my Parisian lifestyle for a Dutch adventure.
Between Amsterdam and the countryside where we rented an AirBnb there was so much to discover and so many amazing things to see. For today’s post I’m sharing my photo diary and giving you the complete guide to the perfect stay in the Netherlands.
The Phantom of The Opera
Hello my lovelies! Welcome back to another Parisian adventure here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Today’s post is a short little photo diary from last weekend when I visited the Opera House or, The Palais Garnier as we call it here in Paris. I’ve seen a lot of awe-inspiring interiors in this city but the one found in the Opera definitely trumps them all in terms of being the most extravagant and jaw-dropping.
I really hope these photos will inspire you to pay the Opera House a visit if you ever happen to be in Paris but honestly my photos don’t even do this beautiful building justice for how incredible this place really is on the inside.
How I’m Keeping My Skin Clear This Spring
Hello everybody and welcome back to another beauty post here on LaDameWhoFellToEarth. Lately my skincare obsession has been stronger than ever, especially with summer just around the corner.
I’ve mentioned it a thousand times already here on our blog but ever since I left Ireland and moved to France I’ve been focusing so much more of my attention on taking care of my skin than I have been on my makeup. Beauty in France is all about the epidermis and so many of the girls here get away with leaving the house completely foundation-free on a daily basis because of how well they look after their skin.
The way I’ve always seen beauty is that when it comes to makeup and skincare, it’s so important to see the face as the canvas while the actual makeup that you use is like the paint with which you create your work of art. If the canvas is damaged, your job as an artist is going to be much more difficult and demanding. This is exactly why it’s so important to keep the quality of your base in tact.
In a recent post I mentioned that I love the products by the brand Fresh and the way that they leave my face feeling so hydrated and nourished. In today’s post I’m going to be talking about their rose infused products and how I’ve been using them to clear up my complexion.
How’s it going blogging buddies? I hope you’re all doing well! For today’s post I’m going to be answering a question that a lot of you seem to ask quite frequently and it’s why I named my blog LaDameWhoFellToEarth. The short answer is that it’s a reference to David Bowie and when he starred in the film The Man Who Fell To Earth, which is also celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
I guess I have a thing for old movies and for weird movies? But anyway today I wanted to talk about this legendary rock icon and why he means so much to me in my life. I also thought it would be a good opportunity to share this outfit with you! So without further ado, let’s begin with the post.
The Saddest Day I Experienced in Paris
For the past three days now I’ve been struggling to find the right words to make this blogpost. Words can’t even begin to describe what I witnessed on Monday night and even three days after the tragedy I’m still speechless.
It’s been almost two years now since first I left my little seaside town in Ireland to pursue the beginning of my new life in Paris. I remember when I arrived at my first ever apartment in the city. It was in the latin quarter and just a ten minute walk from Notre-Dame. I was so blown away by the panoramic view of the Parisian rooftops from my top floor window and even more chuffed that Notre-Dame was only just around the corner from the tiny apartment.
Notre-Dame is a building that I consider myself so lucky to have been able to call my next-door neighbour for the time that I lived in Paris’ 5th arrondissement. This building was often the highlight of my day as I passed it going to and from college and knowing that one of the most beautiful architectural structures in the world was right in front of my doorstep everyday really filled my heart with so much appreciation and gratitude that I lived in Paris. Notre-Dame always felt like something that symbolised stability and eternalness in the city. To see it go up in flames felt so messed up because everything that the building symbolised seemed to burn with it.
